Terms of Service
Last updated: July 12, 2026
1. Welcome to Dextora
Dextora ("we", "us", "our") operates an online marketplace connecting Nigerian buyers and verified sellers. By accessing or using Dextora you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. Acceptance of terms
When you create an account you are required to confirm that you have read and accept these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy by ticking the agreement checkbox. We record the date and time of your acceptance. You may not use Dextora without accepting these documents.
3. Account & eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Nigeria to use Dextora. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
4. Contact details & notifications
You must provide a valid Nigerian phone number and a working email address. You consent to receiving transactional emails (order confirmations, delivery updates, KYC decisions, security alerts) and in-app notifications, including occasional broadcasts from the Dextora team. Providing false contact information may result in suspension of your account.
4b. In-app messaging & chat safety
Dextora provides in-app messaging so buyers and sellers can discuss product details, price, quantity and delivery area. For everyone's protection, messages are automatically screened and phone numbers, email addresses, external links, social-media handles and messaging-app usernames are masked or blocked. You must not attempt to move a transaction off Dextora, share personal contact details, or use chat for harassment, spam, scams or illegal offers. Messages may be reviewed by our team when a dispute or abuse report is raised. Deals completed off-platform lose buyer protection, order tracking and dispute support.
5. Becoming a seller (KYC)
Sellers must complete identity verification (KYC) by submitting a valid NIN, a selfie, and accurate contact details. We reserve the right to reject or revoke seller status at our discretion.
6. Listings, images & prohibited items
Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings and for the images they upload. Counterfeit goods, illegal substances, weapons, stolen property, adult content, and any items prohibited under Nigerian law are strictly forbidden and will result in account termination. Product images are hosted through our media provider (Cloudinary) and served publicly to buyers.
7. Payments, fees & commission
All transactions are processed via Paystack. New sellers enjoy a 30-day introductory period during which they keep 100% of their sales. After 30 days, Dextora charges a 10% platform commission on each sale. Seller earnings are held until the buyer's order is marked delivered, after which funds become available for payout.
8. Boosting listings
Sellers may pay an optional fee to boost an individual product for increased visibility for a limited period (currently 24 hours per boost). Boost fees are non-refundable once the boost is active.
9. Wallet & payouts
Seller earnings accumulate in a Dextora wallet. Sellers may request a payout to a valid Nigerian bank account. Payouts are reviewed and processed by our team, subject to verification and available balance.
10. Referrals
Users may earn referral rewards when people they invite complete a qualifying first paid order. Rewards are credited to your wallet. We may modify or end the referral programme, and may withhold rewards obtained through fraud or abuse.
11. Orders, cancellations & disputes
Buyers may cancel an order at no cost while it is still pending or being processed. Once the seller marks it shipped, cancellation is no longer available and any concerns must be raised as a dispute. Buyers may report issues within 7 days of delivery. We mediate disputes in good faith but Dextora is not party to any sale contract between buyer and seller.
11a. Reviews
After delivery, buyers may rate and review the seller. Reviews must be honest, based on a real purchase, and free of hate speech, personal data, or defamatory content. We may remove reviews that violate these rules.
12. Limitation of liability
Dextora is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use of Dextora after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
